Meet VOTG Dr. Alan Dubowy, DVM
Manalapan, NJ-based Vet on the Go is the concept of Dr. Alan Dubowy, DVM, originally from Long Island, New York. Dr. Dubowy earned his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Michigan State University in 1968. For nearly fifty years, he has cared for many types of animals in a variety of veterinary positions.
Not long after graduation, Dr. Dubowy provided equine care at both Yonkers and Roosevelt Raceways, the NY City Mounted Police Department and was featured in a National Geographic channel episode of Rescue Ink. Over a five year period, he practiced on Long Island, NY. Then with a partner, they purchased the Staten Island Animal Hospital in Staten Island NY. All this experience has put him in contact with thousands of animals, providing a wealth of knowledge and diagnostic skill.
In the early 1980's, Dr. Dubowy left the Staten Island, NY practice and opened his own Community Animal Hospital in Union Beach, NJ, on Monmouth County's eastern shore. There he served his patients until 2010, when he transitioned to his current Vet on the Go mobile practice, where you will find him today delivering his special brand of pet-centered care.
Area pet owners know Dr. Dubowy as caring and compassionate, who takes the time to explain your pets' condition and all treatment options available, but will not subject them to unnecessary tests and will refer you to an area specialist if the situation is warranted. The Doctor's honesty and personalized service set him apart from other practices, while his gentle care will let you know your pet is in safe and capable hands when medical attention is required.
In his free time, Alan enjoys photography, fitness, family time and fine dining with his partner and VOTG assistant Maria. Of course, there is always time with his Akita named Hachi and family pets.
